Every call a member makes or receives has an influence on their account. Receiving calls from people with a high rate is lucrative.
Calling people with a high rate is not profitable but can be seen as an investment.
If the person with the high rate calls back a member can profit a lot.
You might want to try how this system works with changing rates and balances:
Simply click on one of the phones on the left side to make a call. If you click on one of them again - you will hang up.
The rate for each phone is the ratio of incoming (IN) and outgoing(OUT) calls. This trial starts with 25 units as the BALANCE.
The duration of calls made with the phones (what you usually pay for) is
represented as the TALK TIME in seconds.
How can a member of the network receive a lot of calls without investing too much call time?
For instance, by spreading an urban rumour which people want confirmded.
Say somebody tells a person on the phone that he wants to give away his car for free.
Unfortunatelly the person he called does not have a driving license, but does have a lot of friends.
These friends might call back and ask if the car is still available...
Another possibility would be a mutual silence conference. Two friends call each other a lot,
but after a while there is not much to say anymore. Nevertheless they prefer staying connected
than being apart, and know that they will increase their account by doing so.
The most likely scenario would be that of a person with knowledge and skills who
receives a great many of calls because other people want to profit from his knowledge.
Although the calls might interfere with his life his popularity will entail increased
credits in the virtual market.
